Slice of life of cooking and eating and slowly coming to terms with ones sexuality。 I love the slow build up of their relationship and am excited to read the next volume! :)

It was so good!! I love Nomoto-San and Kasuga-San so much! It’s interesting to now know that the live action drama was based off of the first two volumes of the series。 The difference on how things were portrayed from manga to tv is fun。 I can’t wait to read more and to know who the new neighbor is!

Book 2 was great。 Just great。 There were a number of new and delicious looking dishes and each and every one of them made me hungry。 Actually, physically hungry。 This manga is a feast for the eyes。 In typical manga fashion, one of the characters gets sick in a chapter here; the other prepares a glorious bowl of kitsune udon。 Oh。 My god。 It really struck me, both in the heart and in the stomach。 Having someone make you a big bowl of soup, when you’re too weak to do it yourself。 It has a very comf Book 2 was great。 Just great。 There were a number of new and delicious looking dishes and each and every one of them made me hungry。 Actually, physically hungry。 This manga is a feast for the eyes。 In typical manga fashion, one of the characters gets sick in a chapter here; the other prepares a glorious bowl of kitsune udon。 Oh。 My god。 It really struck me, both in the heart and in the stomach。 Having someone make you a big bowl of soup, when you’re too weak to do it yourself。 It has a very comfy, healing warmth to it。 Almost makes me want to pull a Ferris Bueller and call out sick today (but who’d be there to make me Udon?)。 Beyond the food though, this volume really expanded on the relationship between Nomoto and Kasuga and cements the romance plot。 In my mind, this volume moves it from the sub-plot to the main plot。 I really appreciated learning more about each character’s backstory too。 Having depth of character elevates the manga for me in a big way。 。。。more

I love how this is the same recipe almost each chapter (them cooking and eating and discussing different foods), but you can see the subtle evolution of their relationship, and it's not boring or repetitive。 Both of them are very cute and good for each other, and the issues they have with their families are relatably realistic。 I love how this is the same recipe almost each chapter (them cooking and eating and discussing different foods), but you can see the subtle evolution of their relationship, and it's not boring or repetitive。 Both of them are very cute and good for each other, and the issues they have with their families are relatably realistic。 。。。more

easily one of the best GL manga i've ever read。 the slowburn slice of life contrasted with some of the harsher realities of being a lesbian or really just anyone perceived as outside the norm of what a woman "should" be lends such a heartfelt yet striking tone to the whole thing。 i'm anxiously awaiting the next volume🙏 easily one of the best GL manga i've ever read。 the slowburn slice of life contrasted with some of the harsher realities of being a lesbian or really just anyone perceived as outside the norm of what a woman "should" be lends such a heartfelt yet striking tone to the whole thing。 i'm anxiously awaiting the next volume🙏 。。。more

This series makes me so damn happy, I love that the author and translators aren't afraid to use the word Lesbian in the Manga, so many other series will beat around the bush, but it's just so refreshing that this series doesn't。 This series makes me so damn happy, I love that the author and translators aren't afraid to use the word Lesbian in the Manga, so many other series will beat around the bush, but it's just so refreshing that this series doesn't。 。。。more

These books are so dang cute! It's very clear where these two are headed, but I love the slow comfort and quiet companionship that they have。 It's like taking a train ride instead of a flight- it might take a little longer, but it's going to be well worth it。Serious question though- cookbook when please!? So glad we're finally getting decent f/f manga。 This is adorable。 Freaking adorable。 Also, it makes these dishes look incredible, to the point where I made the mistake of googling a couple。 A mistake, because they couldn't live up to the fake thing 😅 So glad we're finally getting decent f/f manga。 This is adorable。 Freaking adorable。 Also, it makes these dishes look incredible, to the point where I made the mistake of googling a couple。 A mistake, because they couldn't live up to the fake thing 😅 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 what a sweet series。。。the relationship does develop here, and we get both nomoto and kasuga beginning to realize their feelings for each other。 mostly though, we get a TON of amazing looking food that they consume, plus a lot of backstory。 you can really see how much they care about each other!! I absolutely adore this pairing and the slice-of-life + food aspects make this a favorite for sure。

Most of this book is a (delightful) lather-rinse-repeat of volume one: Nomoto cooks。 Kasuga eats。 There are many shots of Kasuga putting food in her mouth。 It's calm and lovely。 Then comes chapter sixteen。The chapter opens with a trigger warning, and I suppose it's warranted。 But rather than triggering, I found it achingly familiar and incredibly grounded。 Nomoto is starting to realize her feelings for Kasuga, but no one has ever put forth the possibility that she might be a lesbian, and so she Most of this book is a (delightful) lather-rinse-repeat of volume one: Nomoto cooks。 Kasuga eats。 There are many shots of Kasuga putting food in her mouth。 It's calm and lovely。 Then comes chapter sixteen。The chapter opens with a trigger warning, and I suppose it's warranted。 But rather than triggering, I found it achingly familiar and incredibly grounded。 Nomoto is starting to realize her feelings for Kasuga, but no one has ever put forth the possibility that she might be a lesbian, and so she goes into an internet deep dive to try to understand herself and her feelings。 At times that goes exactly how you'd expect, but what it mostly is is the moment when Nomoto finally understands herself。 She's queer。 And that's okay。We don't know what Kasuga's feelings are, but there are some hints that she's aware that she has a crush on Nomoto。 Her recounting of how she came to have issues with food based on stupid gender-based expectations is also a striking moment in the story, and I do expect, or at least hope, that these two will end up together。 But the most important thing is that Nomoto has found peace in understanding herself and why her mother's expectations rubbed her the wrong way。 I'm still knocking off half a star for those unsettling eating images, but rounding right back up because Nomoto has the peace she always deserved。 。。。more

alice

i want someone to cook for me😋
